ABOUT AIRLINE PILOT LINK

Our journey began back in 2011 when our leadership team set up the UK's leading medical training provider built with the aim of propelling students towards medical based careers. Almost 15 years later and having worked with almost 1.3 million young aspiring medics we have loved seeing bright young people secure places at the UK's leading medical schools. With passion and experience in aviation we're a group of pilots who want to ensure that students are prepared and informed about the aviation journey ahead. Uninformed decisions and lack of sector insight can lead to expensive mistakes, rejection and resits.

The flight training sector is completely privatised, so unlike a university, and despite all of the good will, there are unfortunately competing interests in the training sector. All flight schools balance commercial viability with student success. This presents a challenge as students have one shot at flight school success, your academic achievement in the ATPL theory exams and your aircraft handling skills determine your employability and the wider success of the flight school. Each school and training provider is different so it's a good idea to get an independent, expert insight into all elements of the Flight Training School system, from application to airline before you make any decisions.  Remember, the flight training school is not going to employ you. To work for an airline you will need a typewriting which with some airlines can require another upfront payment of £40,000 on top of the training fees. Airlines all use different interview techniques and shortlist based on their own commercial needs, you can only apply to an airline once per cycle and shortlist is brutally competitive. Airline Pilot Link offers an insight in the interview strategies deployed by airlines, the type rating process as well as practice interview techniques. In aviation, to prepare is to succeed and mistakes before sign up are proven to be very costly.

As part of our programme commitment all students receive an information and insight session into the fully funded British Airways Speedbird Academy training programme and how to write a winning application to maximise the chances of being selected.

Airline employability is still very competitive. The job market is volatile and with our proper industry insight we can help you begin preparing your application before you finish flight training. Stand out from the hundreds of other cadets who complete their ATPL each year, learn interview screening tips and begin enhancing your profile with our insiders insight into airline recruitment.
